The Functional Outcome of Four-In-One Technique: Dorsal Closing-Wedge & Shortening Osteotomy, Debridement, Micro-Fracture in the Treatment of Freiberg’s Disease

ثبت نشده
چکیده

We proposed a multipronged approach to the management of Freiberg disease. A combined dorsal closing wedge with shortening of the metatarsal and joint debridement and microfracture for treating the Freiberg infarction was done. The hypothesis is that dorsal closing wedge and shortening alone cannot help cartilage regeneration. Addition of micro-fracture aids in cartilage regeneration and debridement clears the joint of debris which might further perpetuate damage if left unattended.

High tibial osteotomy: closed wedge versus combined wedge osteotomy

BACKGROUND High tibial osteotomy is a common procedure to treat symptomatic osteoarthritis of the medial compartment of the knee with varus alignment. This is achieved by overcorrecting the varus alignment to 2-6° of valgus. Various high tibial osteotomy techniques are currently used to this end. Common procedures are medial opening wedge and lateral closing wedge tibial osteotomies. The latera...

The Clinical Outcome of Simultaneous Lateral Closed- Wedge Distal Femoral Osteotomy and Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in the ACL-deficient Knees with Symptomatic Femoral Varus Deformity

Background: Nowadays combined high tibial osteotomy and ACL reconstruction is accepted as a safe and effectivesurgery for patients with symptomatic varus osteoarthritis and anterior knee instability; however, the source of varusdeformity is sometimes the femoral bone. No studies have reported concomitant ACL reconstruction and distal femoralosteotomy in ACL-deficient knees wit...
